All PALECEK labeled fabrics comply with the requirements of AB 1817 ( California PFAS Law) and do not contain any regulated PFAS. We are the supplier of these fabrics and not the manufacturer.
California Assembly Bill No. 1817 (AB 1817) prohibits the manufacture and sale or distribution in the state of California, of textile articles that contain regulated perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) beginning January 1, 2025. It requires the textile manufacturer to provide those that offer the product for sale or distribution a certificate of compliance stating that the textile article is in compliance with the requirements of AB 1817 and does not contain any regulated PFAS.
California Assembly Bill No. 2998 (AB 2998) requires upholstered furniture sold and distributed in commerce in California to be free from covered flame-retardant chemicals. The states of Maine and Rhode Island have similar laws.
To process your COM order in compliance with these regulations, we require a letter of compliance on the Fabric Mill letterhead signed by an authorized official of the manufacturer. The certificate shall include the following:
- Purchase Order Number
- COM Fabric Name and/or Fabric Item number
- Statement that the fabric is in compliance with AB 1817 and does not contain any regulated PFAS if order is shipping after 1/1/25.
- Statement that the fabric does not contain covered flame retardant chemicals if shipping to California, Maine or Rhode Island (AB 2998)
- The letter can be sent with the COM fabric or emailed to Customer Service.
We will not be able to proceed with your order until the letter of compliance from the fabric mill is received.
If the letter is sent separately from the fabric, please send with a copy of your COM form to our mailing address or email to email.
